Full mouth rehabilitation in Kew
Restoring the smile you deserve
When multiple teeth are lost or damaged through trauma or decay, your dentist may recommend a full mouth rehabilitation. Dr Kirthi Kosalram and the team at Melbourne East Prosthodontics, routinely restore smiles using the latest techniques and methods.
Full mouth rehabilitation (otherwise known as full mouth reconstruction) involves the artificial rebuilding of all teeth in both the lower and upper dental arches. The laboratory work involved in fabricating these restorations is carried out by local and trusted labs in Kew. In addition, treatment can also involve the repair of your gums, jaw, and other facial structures. Depending upon the complexity of your condition, treatments can be carried out entirely by Dr Kosalram or by utilising the skills of other specialist practitioners.
Some of the restorative treatments carried out as part of full mouth rehabilitation include:
- Dental implants
- Dental crowns
- Orthodontic treatment
- Gum or jaw surgery
- Bone grafting
Common reasons for full mouth rehabilitation
Some of the most common reasons for full mouth rehabilitations are
- Few or unhealthy teeth
- Trauma or decay resulting in chipped teeth
- Excessively worn teeth
- Gum (periodontal) disease
- Problems with the bite (malocclusion)
Inevitably, suffering from one or more of the above conditions can seriously impact self-confidence and quality of life. Using comprehensive planning Dr Kosalram can customise a treatment plan and coordinate a treatment sequence designed to restore both functionality and beauty to your smile.
With state-of-the-art treatments such as dental implants to replace multiple teeth, dental implants, ceramic veneers, ceramic crowns and the latest bone-grafting techniques, outstanding outcomes are provided for everyone of our patients. We are committed to providing a beautifully restored smile that you can be proud of.
How long does the whole process take?
The length and scale of dental rehabilitations depend upon the complexity and severity of the condition. In severe cases, treatments can involve multiple procedures that can take between 9-12 months to complete. This is especially true when bone grafting is required prior to inserting implant-based restorations.
Alternatively, if oral rehabilitation is less complex and is restricted to a full mouth of veneers and crowns, treatment can be completed in a few weeks. Should Dental implants to replace multiple teeth treatment be required, treatment can potentially be completed in 4 months with the temporary implant bridge being inserted immediately in place following surgery.
