CD Case 1 SK

Presenting concern:
This patient presented to us complaining of an upper left, loose implant bridge (fabricated overseas) that she feared might dislodge soon. The implant system she described could not be sourced into Australia. The patient wanted greater tooth display. Her current prosthesis made her face look old, collapsed and lacking in fullness.

Treatment done:
The implants were evaluated with an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Failing implants were explanted. An immediate complete denture was inserted. Following healing, upon the patients’ request, a definitive complete denture with a mesh reinforcement (for strength) was fabricated and inserted.

Treatment outcome:
The patient is very happy with the outcome of her treatment. She loves her new teeth and the fullness of her face. She smiles more often and does not worry about having infectious implants in her mouth anymore. The patient feels younger and hopes to have treatment for her lower arch in future.
