FIB Case 1 TB

Presenting concern:
This patient had no teeth. She presented to us in 2010 complaining of an upper and lower dentures that were loose. She had multiple medical problems including left facial paralysis which occurred 30 years ago. This worsened denture stability.

Treatment Done:
A new complete upper denture was fabricated with lighter and more appropriately shaped teeth. Her younger photos were used as a reference for selection of teeth moulds. She also had four implants placed in the lower jaw and this was fixed to a lower implant-supported prosthesis.

Treatment Outcome:
The patient can now chew comfortably. She felt more confident to smile. Her lips appeared fuller and her teeth lighter. On chewing, her teeth came together sufficiently in the back areas thus providing adequate support and function. This has improved her quality of life tremendously
